"Marlon Smith, 21, of Heol y Parc, Cefneithin, was convicted for the offence in his absence at Llanelli Magistrates' Court. No plea was entered.

The court heard that on July 6 last year, Carmarthenshire Council's environmental enforcement officers spotted Smith at Cross Hands Business Park, where they saw a vehicle parked near the recycling banks in the Co-operative car park. They saw Smith take cardboard boxes from the vehicle's boot and place bottles into one of the recycling banks.

He was issued with a fixed penalty notice for the offence but failed to pay it. Magistrates fined Smith £175 and ordered him to pay £264.71 court costs."

We say he should have kept a hold of the boxes to use when he was moving home! Surely, the cheapest removal box?
